Election Rules

Rules of Elections

 

15-ER-01.  All citizens have one vote regardless of level in a game or time in Pegasus Command.

 

15-ER-02.  Term Limit Rule- There are no terms limits, you may run for any position as many times as you wish and hold it as many times as elected. However, the Supreme Commander may only hold office in one consecutive term and must sit out the next election cycle for Supreme Commander.  After which the former office holder may run again for the office of Supreme Commander. In the event a candidate should file for both a Quorum Seat and for Supreme Commander, they will not be seated with the elected Quorum until after the vote to elect the Supreme Commander has concluded.  Should such a seat not be filled due to their election to the Office of Supreme Commander, the seat will be filled with the next highest vote getter in the election and no new election will be held.

 

15-ER-03.  The Head of State is the Arbiter of all Elections and may make such rules as needed for their fair conduct.

 

15-ER-04.  In the event that a Supreme Commander is unable to finish their term due to death, resignation, or removal the following shall apply:

A.  The President shall post for nominations of candidates from Peg Com Citizens to finish the term within 24 hours of the event causing the vacancy, such nominations shall not be open longer than 5 days.

B.  Once nominations close the President shall arrange for a fast as possible transition, not to exceed three days.

C. After the period listed in (B) the Quorum will select from the nominations that are accepted, the new Supreme Commander.

D. The selected candidate will assume the Office of the Supreme Commander for the remainder of the term.  Such a term, unless four months or longer, will not count as a qualifying term under 15-ER-02.

E. During any period in which the guild does not have a Supreme Commander due to a reason listed in 15-ER-4, the longest serving Game Commander that accepts the responsibility shall be acting Supreme Commander, until one is selected by the Quorum. 

 

15-ER-05. In the event the President is unable to complete their term in office due to resignation or otherwise the following shall apply:

                 1.  Should there be 60 days or less in the term, the chair of the Quorum shall assume the powers and duties of the Office of the President until the end of the term.

                 2.  In the event the term has more than 60 days left a special general election shall be held to elect a new President for the remainder of the term. Until the elections the chair of the Quorum will assume the powers and duties of the Office of the President.
