The Elder Scrolls Online Game Plan July 2020 - January 2021
ESO Game Plan
July 2020 – January 2021
Saucy
The purpose of this plan is to map out the plan for ESO over the next 6 months as my term as game commander. ESO as a Pegasus Command Game is going strong, and I seek to maintain that momentum and sense of community, while growing our players and member base, allowing for all members to play ESO in a supportive, fun, and respectful environment. We will maintain a community that is free of toxicity and selfishness. We will maintain and build on our community based on the founding principles and values of Pegasus Command, while fostering growth, game play, and a fun and supportive gaming environment. We will attain this by utilizing the career progression methodology suggested by Supreme Commander Thunder, through promoting and encouraging participation in a wide variety of ops each week that cater to varying levels of play and play style. We will continue to recruit new members to keep our member base growing and offering new opportunities for our veteran members to mentor those new to the guild and/or game.

Career Progression and Ops:
-
Early Game – Members that are new to the guild, and/or relatively new to the game, will be welcomed warmly into Pegasus Command and given the tips and tools to begin their journey. My vision is to ideally have several command teammates that can reach out to new members and guide them as they start down this path. They will do so by offering help and advice, encouraging use of voice chat in discord, encouraging participation in ops, and offering to run dungeons with the new members to facilitate their growth. My plan is to add additional command staff over the next few months to help achieve this goal. While my goal is 100% engagement of new members, I also realize that some that join will be either slow to warm to the community, or it may not be their game style. This serves as our filter, and I will review membership monthly to assess engagement and participation within the community. Ops that cater to this game level are overland ops on Tuesday and Thursday, in which large groups do overland content together to improve successful completion of quests / achievements / delves / public dungeons /etc.
-
Mid-Game – At this level our members become mentors to the new members and help them with growth. Ops that cater to this level are Veteran Dungeon night, Normal Trial Practice, and Normal Trial gear runs. Mid-Game is the level where most of our members tend to start to struggle to stay engaged, and this is the time when we are most vulnerable to natural attrition as members struggle with making the bridge between mid game and end game, as there is a very steep learning curve to make the transition. This is where it is important to make sure the members are invested in the community aspect of the game, and to foster growing together to reach milestones. Encouragement of finishing achievements such as Maelstrom and Dragonstar arena, and starting the path to PVP, are areas of focus to add challenges for this group while not seeming unattainable. This is also when members can strengthen their own knowledge of the game through fostering new members and teaching.
-
End-Game – At its current state, the guild has not moved into this area to a large degree, as we have very few members that are at this level. As our members grow, the guild, as a whole, will grow into this role. Our current path is through farming normal trials for gear in preparation to move into veteran trials in the near future. PVP ops are designed to teach mid level members about Cyrodill and foster discussion on PVP builds and gear. These ops will eventually morph into more end game content as our members become ready for end game.

Command Structure
-
The ESO command staff is a team, and while the chain of command is understood and at times necessary, as game commander, I firmly believe a successful team leads as a team. This approach not only fosters the growth of future leaders, but promotes open and productive communication. My goal as game commander is to have a solid command team that will grow within ESO and Pegasus Command. I believe my success as a leader is defined by the strength of the team. Over the course of the next few months I intend to add 1 to 2 new command staff members, and will eventually identify the ESO XO. The goal is to have a strong XO that is groomed to eventually take their own command, whether that be in ESO or another game within Pegasus Command.
-
I believe Pegasus Command is a unique gem within the gaming community. It is a place where members can enjoy their game in an environment that gives them a sense of community and team. All that I do within ESO is to further build and promote the community, its core values, and principles.
