President's State of the Guild Post-DEC
As required by rule, 5-PR-2, this is the Office of the President’s required post on the state of the guild. The following areas are under this Office’s Jurisdiction and will be covered in this post: Recruiting, ESO, Peg Com Judicial System, Guild Public Works, and special game schools. This post will cover the period from my election to this date, future posts will cover the period since the last report.
Overview and Future Outlook: The overall health of the guild is good. As many members know we had a disruptive November and the process of resolution of these issues continues and is well in hand. The site has been fully restored and there has been no disruption in member management. We held a special election to fill a vacant Q seat and nominations to put our new Supreme Commander in place for the unexpired part of the previous SCs term. All prior issues have been resolved, however, several guilds do suffer from the lack of recruiting for several months and this gap will be more noticeable until step up in effort closes it. Plans are in place to close this gap and we are confident we will do so at a rapid pace. Our Holiday giveaways are doing well and proceeding as planned. Elections for both the Q and SC will be in January 2020.
Over the next period the President has been tasked with rules on financial fund management, defining Peg Com Citizen duties better, and some minor site reorganization. The fund management rules are due to the guild making some money off its Twitch Page. We expect all this to be resolved during this upcoming period.
It is expected we as a guild will continue to grow at a steady pace, find fun for our members, and return the ESO guild to regular order.
Recruiting: Has been very slow due to previous command issues. This has created a gap which will be closed over the coming period. As always new members are important to the future of the guild. Over this period our attrition rate has remained steady to slightly improved in some areas. This has resulted in our guild population remaining steady around the 215 mark.
ESO: Due to issues with finding a Game Commander this guild was by vote of the Q transferred to the Office of the President. During this period we have increased recruiting by over 100%, we have been able to hold populated game Ops weekly and have an upcoming Holiday Op. Changes to Peg Com Citizen participation were made by the Q due to special issues in that in ESO you may be in more than one guild with the same toon. This will result most likely in a culling of 20-30% of this Guilds Pop Number but will not hamper operations. It was initially expected this state for the guild would be resolved inside the initial 45-day transfer to the President of the guild. This initial transfer will end near the first of the year, as of now we expect to need an additional 30-60 days to complete the mission in this guild. It has been determined Peg Com will not pass on ESO and it will continue to have our full support. The search for a GC continues, and it is expected we will be able to make this return to normal order in this period. Another purpose is to establish relations and standard operations procedures for working with the Phoenix Element Guild. The guild was founded by the former GC for ESO and is friendly to our purposes. We are continuing to look for ways we can cooperate and enhance the ESO experience for members of both groups. This is a very possible goal and relations are good, while progress is being made toward these objectives. We rate the outlook on this as favorable.
Peg Com Judicial System: Remains strong and is in very good order. Work is progressing on multiple fronts. At this point one of the best if not the best court we have had to date.
Guild Public Works: Discord continues to be highly used and useful. It has also added the ability to stream games in voice rooms which has also proven a great feature and is being used to good effect. Peg Com Movie night is strong and more popular than we thought it would be and a good way to churn members that play very different games with us. While the private servers for the Forest remain steady and popular. Website is being reviewed for possible update on organization which will be completed in this period. Both Twitter and Twitch keeps working out well for us, twitch making 100 USD for the year, and having multiple engagements with actors in shows which many of our games are based on.
Special Game Schools: The only game school in operation at this point is in the game Star Conflict. It is having a well attended weekly OP. Over the next period more posts with it need to be made for builds. We do not expect to expand the game schools to other games currently. However, the plan, is to have one for each game where it makes sense to do so in time.
