As discussed on tonight's PCSC meeting, we'll be starting up a Republic-side guild very soon. The question that remains is "What do we name it?"
Our Imperial side guild is "PegCom Shadows", and I'd like to go with something that basically matches that thought process. Something like "PegCom Radiance". However, I'm not sold on that name. lol
What ideas do you guys have?
i have two names to propose...
PegCom Dragoons, and PegCom Lancers.
dragoons are heavy cavalry, and also a term regarding the use of military units as a means for intimidation.
lancers, iirc according to lore (just before the time of the galactic empire, ie: pre-new hope) lancers were elite republic commando units that infiltrated hostile territory, blended into local populations, and would briefly reassemble to carryout gorilla style hit and run attacks against hardened targets. after the fall of the republic they became the foundation of the rebel's elite and feared infiltrator units.

does that exclude my suggestions, or does that not apply to group or unit names/titles?
I placed that there just for the relative rule we have about names, nothing you suggested is a person. What it is meant to avoid is naming after a player, or something like Peg Com Starbuck or Peg Com Patton
if you like the idea of a dragoon as our moniker, though are looking for something that flows better, PegCom Coursers would work almost as well, though i liked the varied meanings of the term dragoon myself.
mainly the bit about dragoon also meaning using troop deployments as a means of coercion.
actually on second thought... courser is also another name for a fast horse... might fit better with pegasus.
