Aer's End of Term Address- JAN 2024
I approach the end of my 6th double term as Supreme Commander. I think it important to reflect on the term and status of the guild. On 15 JAN 24 we will have a new Supreme Commander. First, I want to thank my command staff members over the year for all the work they have put into their games. We have made great progress in stabilizing our games and community. I am proud of each of you and the contributions of time and creativity you all have made.
Peg Com went multigame in 2016 in anticipation of BSGO being shut down as a game by the developer. Which did in fact occur in 2019. We lose and we gain such is the nature of the things in guilds and life. Yet Peg Com has and continues to remain. This is a testament to our structure and to all the great people we have had help build our community. We all stand on the shoulders of others and no one person is responsible for our successes. While we lost Guild Wars 2 this year as a game due to lack of participation. We also had to revamp our FFXIV guild. I feel both these choices have made us stronger as a guild and community. FFXIV is now stronger as a guild than it has ever been with us during its time here. I am happy our plans have been fruitful. I look forward to what Rose the new Game Commander will have in store for it in the future. We have had a lot of help with rebuilding FFXIV and I thank all of you that helped make that a success story for us. With out all the help it would not have happened.
Over the year we have worked on more community integration. We have added more staff positions inside games to help the Game Commanders. Made our culture stronger and ended the issues with animosity between our games as to how "successful" they are. There is only one Pegasus Command, and each of our guilds are a part of that whole. We now see and must keep seeing we raise or fall together, and we are all in this as one. Movement between games by members, Game Commanders working together, and members just popping in to meet others is part of what we are about. Friendships and in game enjoyment with one another are the order of the day and tomorrow. Games are entertainment and should be fun. This is a main mission of our command staffs, to make things work for members so they can meet others and have a good time. We are on this track and will remain so into the future.
In closing, I want to thank this membership for the chance to serve over the past year as your Supreme Commander. It has been my honor to serve this community. Still, this will be my final Supreme Commander term. As many know I am a break glass as needed. My mission is complete it has taxed me, more so this term than any before. Still, I made it to the finish line but foresee no need for my return to this office in the future. It is now on all of you to further light the way of what Pegasus Command is. I am happy to count myself as one of the seventeen members, so far, that have served this guild as a Supreme Commander. We all stand on the shoulders of the ones before us. I look forward to watching us continue to grow strong together. Peg Com is truly nothing without its members. This year we will enjoy our upcoming 13th Anniversary events; remember we are all here due to all that came before. I want to thank all past and present Pegasus Command members; we are all a part of one another.
