STO ReOrder Plan-Aer
As with most of my plans you can stop reading here, if you like, as this is likely to be the only part never revised lol…Still if you want to know what I am thinking atm, and what things will look like in future, well I would keep reading JOE4Play!
Why am I here: I am here by agreement with our Q to reorg STO. The issue with STO atm, is we need more bodies, and more leadership. That is not to say anyone is doing anything wrong. Nope! On the contrary Peg Com is here the serve our members, and we never require anything more than they show up, have fun, and don’t be a dick. Still, we are an organization and someone, somehow must make shit happen. Enter me stage left.
What is the Purpose: STO is a great game, run by a shit company, looking at you Cryptic, fuck you! That said Peg Com is a great guild. We have recommitted to making sure all our guilds function as Peg Com Guilds should. That means we interact with one another not just up and down by sideways also. It means we have a STO Community, goals short and long. Fun ops with meaning and purpose behind the fun. We have a leadership bench ready to step up and do the shit that we need to make that good stuff happen. We also take care of our members from start of the game all through end game content.
How: STO will be broken up into phase plans. Each Phase will focus on some main purpose and will build on the previous ones. I build guilds like one would build a house, brick by brick. Think of each phase as a brick building up to the main goal, sustainability. This plan covers both FED and KDF unless specifically say KDF
Phase One: I will be looking at ranks, banks, holdings. I will steam line these items for use of current membership and an eye to future members as well. Weekly giveaways will be restructured as well, and rules put in place for how to conduct. As well as a giveaway coffer for the guilds use so command knows what it’s got! Op playbook will be made and standardized.
EST a week to complete and will ask and want member input. What I would like from members is honest feedback on issues, ideas on ops, and checking out what is changed.
Start date: 1 AUG 20- Phase Completed 5 OCT 20
Phase Two: Establishing a STO discord flow, we will be in discord during game play at times when we play as a new habit. This is to foster communication between members and to up our discord activity. This is important for member interaction and does not mean you have to be doing anything together per se. It is a shared experience. Ops at this point will work the same way, and you will be able to get credit for the OP by just hanging out with the guild also, nifty right! Recruiting will also pick up and happen daily. Start a perm set of in game chain of command. KDF fleet will have one OP per month and a mirror program for member advancement in the game. It will not be sep from the FED fleet however and will be a dependent.
EST 3-4 weeks to complete. Will need members to co-op on discord use, be open to contact new members when online. Be open to help all members with items and embrace a no one is left behind ethos as well as We are nothing without our members sprit. Some to be willing to fill in game command staff slots.
Start Date: Completed 24 NOV 20
Phase Three: Mass recruiting and use of divided level ops, meaning early, mid, and late game focused. Here is where we will id future command bench, stress test command and Op structure. This will be longest phase and build long term goals of guild as well as train future command staff. Recruiting will continue at heavy pace, rotation of membership here is important look for large losses and gains in a month on members.
EST 2-4 months to complete. Will need members to fully engage with structure and be open and willing to id others that go beyond pale as well as members that do not meet standards. Ethos should be well established in members and community correction achieved.
Start Date: Completed 28 DEC 20
Phase Four: ID Game Commander for STO, and prep for transfer of command to them and establish regular order with Peg Com. This will be a significant event with some type of Op for change. I will use this time to slowly back away from day to day control of STO and allow a smooth transition. Should the need arise snap back will be in place.
Members will need to be ready to embrace new commander, and open to the change to start with. This is an all phase issue with me making sure members know this is coming. It should not shock or be a surprise to any membership.
EST 1-3 weeks to complete change of command. Will need command and membership buy in.
Start Date: End of Phase Three.
What STO will look like at end: STO will be a community minded Peg Com Guild with a stable but not expanding membership. We will be able to field 7-12 members per OP FED or KDF side and have a total fleet membership around 75 people. We will be able to thoughtfully take a new player in STO from start to End Game Content. Have an establish game flow, and command progression in the guild as well as that for members. It will be both something you will want to be apart of, and oh yes fun indeed.
