Aer's End of Term Address JUL 19
As I approach the end of my term, I think it important to reflect on the term and status of the guild. On 12 JUL 19 we will have a new Supreme Commander. First, I want to thank my command staff members over the year for all the work they have put into their games. Also special thanks to DannyWhite who has given this guild so much of his time over the years. The next SC will have to find someone to command STO in his stead, he will be hard shoes to follow indeed. Also, a thanks to all our members, as we are, as always, nothing without you.
Peg Com went multigame in 2016 in anticipation of BSGO being closed. Which as a game we lost this year. Still the plan has worked and as we all know “I love it when a plan comes together”. As a result of our planning, we are stronger as a guild than ever. BSGO’s slot has been filled with the Star Conflict game. But will never be replaced. And will always have a special place in Peg Com. We also had to replace Dreadnought with another new game World of Warships, which has also been a fine addition to our community. Still our structure and membership has absorbed the changes and remains both flexible and strong.
Over the year we have added four more additional games. Neverwinter, Elder Scrolls Online, Planetside2, and the citizen created League of Legends guild. Each game has brought unique challenges and great members to our guild. As such we greatly exceeded the one FPS additional game, I had planned for in my Terms Plan, but we are better for it. Each guild is strong and adds much to us as a group. I look forward to seeing how they further develop and grow.
We have made the jump to discord fully and our site and discord are in full agreement on membership. We have run two elections now during my term and both have been contested ones for seats on the PCSC. Our citizenship program has produced excellent results and shown the value of membership in Peg Com. We have grown both membership and our leadership bench. We are lucky to have so many good and willing members to volunteer and make Peg Com work.
In closing, I want to thank this membership for the chance to serve over the past year as your Supreme Commander. With changes to our rules we will be moving back to a 6-month term, a welcome change. Also, the President and Supreme Commander from here on out will no longer be able to be the same person. This is also a needed and welcome change in our rules. As such this will be my 8th and final Supreme Commander term. I am happy to count myself as one of the ten, so far, that have served this guild as a Supreme Commander. We all stand on the shoulders of the ones before us. I look forward to watching us continue to grow strong together. Peg Com is truly nothing without its members. As we enjoy this years 8th Anniversary events, remember we are all here due to all that came before. Happy 8 years Peg Com. Here is to many more.
