Letter to the Guild-Aer
Hello all!
I first, want to thank each of you for being with us here at Pegasus Command. I want to thank all our office holders, that make this guild function and help keep the fun rolling for each of us. When Peg Com was started by me on 22 JUL 11, I would have never expected it to go on for over a decade. Nor all the wonderful people we have had put time and effort into building our community. I also want to thank all our past members as well and officers for being the shoulders we each stand on as we move forward into our futures. We have always had an ethos of service to our fellow guild members in such positions, and each office has both its challenges and rewards. We show time and time again, we are nothing without our members.
I have had the honor to serve this guild as its only President, first as President of the 12 Tribes of Kobol and since we became a multigame guild as its President. I have been able to watch others grow and lead, help build and provide this special place for others, and see us become a functioning institution. There are no glass ceilings here, and any member can lead. It is a core principle and cornerstone of the community's ability to adapt to all the changes we have been presented with over the years. This is deeply embodied into what we are, we are inclusive, a community, and are here to serve one another. To honor this principle and to also allow me to take a step back for a bit of a break. We have been working on plans to make sure we honor our commitments, traditions, and principles to one another. In order to ensure that we have put in place the Pegasus Command Constitution, which will be the rail we travel on into that future. With that future secured. I want to announce to the guild that I do not plan on seeking another term as your President at this time.
My current term will end on 15 OCT 21 and the election process will begin soon. They will be important, and I want to stress that all Peg Com Citizens should think of what they want to see in a future President. I feel it important as well to head off any conjecture about why I do not wish to run at this time. I am not retiring from Peg Com, nor am I ill, or sick of playing games. I simply want to take some time off from the day to day running of the guild and this seemed a strong time to do so. This is planned and I will still be active in games, and will hold the Office of Head of State for the guild. We have strong and very effective leadership up and down our government and chain of command, and but for my confidence in them, this would be much more difficult and possibly not something possible for me to do. I owe them a deep debt of thanks.
My plan is to play some more playstation in the short term as I have a back log I want to work though! I also have a novel I have been working on for a long time now that needs to be published. The goal is to have it out by the holidays, and you will all know more about that when it is available. I will be around in games I play and will always be available for guild members. I also do plan at some point in the future to return to some direct leadership role in the guild. That said, I do look forward to some time off from the day to day and to what the next President can help accomplish for us as a community.
Should anyone have any concerns or questions, just contact me and I am happy to discuss them.
We are nothing without our members,
Aer
President
