Midnight-GO-06-20 - General Op rules
This is simply a re-write and clean-up of one of our most long-standing General Order. Originally listed as "AER-GO-05-12".
Meet in starting location (determined by Game Commander) at the time called for, preferably a few minutes early to allow for time to gather. Do not wait longer than 10 mins to start. Make sure all squad members have their gear set and are not using items/gear that would be detrimental to the team as a whole. Game Commander will determine the type of Op before starting, be it mining, PvE, PvP, etc.
All ops are to last one full hour. Make sure members of the op are directed and understand the rules and protocols needed for the op. If you must leave before the op is finished, either turn over command to the next highest command staff member or give field command to another squad member. Never if possible log off without doing so.
Ops may go longer if participants wish to continue, but no player can be required to stay longer than one hour. Also, if the Ops extends beyond it's allotted hour, ensure that streaming resources are not being utilized when another scheduled Op is supposed to have access to them.
If the op was very successful or you see something worth reporting write up an Op report and publish it on the Pegasus Command website.
All OP Commanders are to follow the Triple M method for game op planning. What that means is Mission, Means, and Motive.
Mission- Is your objective for the Op or phase of the op. This is the what you want to do.
Means- What you need to complete the stated objective. This is the how you will do that.
Motive- Why you want to do the objective in the first instance. This is the why you want to do it in the first place.
Without clear answers to these questions the in game op will fail, and more importantly not be very much fun.
Make sure your members know what is expected of them. Also always maintain operational flexibility. By that if you do not have the means to do a mission, then change the mission focus/goals. So for each game op you will need to be able to have fall backs/alternatives.
