President's State of the Guild Post-MAR
As required by rule, 5-PR-2, this is the Office of the President’s required post on the state of the guild. The following areas are under this Office’s Jurisdiction and will be covered in this post: Recruiting, ESO, 7 Days to Die, Peg Com Judicial System, Guild Public Works, and special game schools. This post will cover the period from my last report in DEC.
Overview and Future Outlook: The overall health of the guild is good. The guild is working on significant structural changes to our command structure in our continued evolution away from BSGO specific functions and structures. This is needed to better serve our much wider community and move to more civilian accountability for appointed officials. More on this will be addressed at Quorum meetings starting with the one this month. These changes while not likely to reduce membership or guild engagement may result in removal of several top level command slots. While we have now hit eight official games with ten official guilds, these changes may in the short run reduce this number. Additionally, with the world wide virus concerns and many individuals staying home, the Office of the President has requested review and possible increases in guild events. We will be focused on watching the needs of members in this area closely. All previous projects have been completed this Office was tasked with other than ESO being returned to normal order.
Recruiting: Changes to the command structure of this process were made, while this Office remains in charge of process and purges, the direct command for recruiting has been given to the office of the Supreme Commander. Our guild population has slowly up-ticked to the 230 mark. Still, many Game's show zero improvements in recruiting. If not for an unusually high retention rate in some games at the moment, and the work of a few guilds our over all number would have dropped. Main concern here is that some games may run into free-fall, if recruiting is not addressed soon. This Office does not expect the retention rates in SWTOR, STO, WoW, and Neverwinter to remain at this high rate over the next report period.
ESO: All official ties with the former GC of this game have come to an end, on good terms, as such no work with outside guilds is being taken and none is expected in this period. The guild rebuild process is nearly completed with new offices created and filled to allow the game to function smoothly and provide the type of gaming community you can expect with Peg Com. It now has a leadership bench, is able to field daily organized and member run events. I have asked for and received approval from our Quorum to remain in sole command of ESO until 27 APR 20. This is a slight extension in time to allow a week over lap between my control and rolling the guild back to regular order. Our SC has met with all ESO Command members, and is in the loop on the plan to move the game back into regular order. I will be planning and conducting the ESO Guild's 1 year anniversary celebrations in the month of April. We are right on plan.
7 Days to Die: This is our newest official guild and grew out of the private server this Office had for members. It has more than doubled in size and has a very active membership base. Once given official status it was rolled over into regular order with a Game Commander appointed, due to the nature of this type of guild special rules have been put in place for it and will be published during this period. The guild was a Peg Com Citizen creation.
Peg Com Judicial System: Remains strong and is in very good order.
Guild Public Works: Discord continues to be highly used and useful. Peg Com Movie night is strong and continues to provide entertainment and churn for members.
Special Game Schools: The only game school in operation at this point is in the game Star Conflict. It is having a well attended weekly OP. Over the next period more posts with it need to be made for builds. We do not expect to expand the game schools to other games currently. However, the plan, is to have one for each game where it makes sense to do so in time.
