President's State of the Guild Post-JUN
As required by rule, 5-PR-2, this is the Office of the President’s required post on the state of the guild. The following areas are under this Office’s Jurisdiction and will be covered in this post: Recruiting, ESO Trials, Peg Com Judicial System, Guild Public Works, Special Game Schools, Special Programs, Elections and 9 Year Anniversary. This post will cover the period from my last report in MAR.
Overview and Future Outlook: The overall health of the guild is good. The guild has been working on significant structural changes to our command structure in our continued evolution away from BSGO specific functions and structures. This is needed to better serve our much wider community and move to more civilian accountability for appointed officials. The last major component of this will be discussed at Quorum meeting this month. These changes while not likely to reduce membership or guild engagement may result in removal of several top level command slots. While we have now hit eight official games with ten official guilds, these changes may in the short run reduce this number.
Recruiting: Our guild population has slowly up-ticked to the 300 mark. Still, many Game's show zero improvements in recruiting. This lack of activity is being addressed with structural changes and not recruiting pushes in under preforming guilds.
ESO: ESO main guild functions have been returned to normal order. Trials to this point were retained with command consent. We have added a second day now, with an eye to having one day Vet and gear grind function. While the other day will remain for practice. We have completed all trials in the game on normal mode save the most recent edition, which will be attempted to clear this week. After this, phase two of the plan, will begin implementation with exit of this game mode from command of OOTP to regular order before next report.
Peg Com Judicial System: Remains strong and is in very good order.
Guild Public Works: Discord continues to be highly used and useful. Peg Com Movie night is strong and continues to provide entertainment and churn for members. ESO is also sponsoring a Karaoke night which is showing itself popular among the wider guild. This type of activity will be encouraged for other game guilds as well.
Special Game Schools: The only game school in operation at this point is in the game Star Conflict. It is having a well attended weekly OP. Over the next period more posts with it need to be made for builds. We do not expect to expand the game schools to other games currently. However, the plan, is to have one for each game where it makes sense to do so in time.
Special Programs: We are now offering leadership training classes to staff again, these are to be recorded and put on the site. This is the return of an older function so far they have been seen a productive and well attended.
Elections and 9 Year Anniversary: Filing for offices will start week of 22 JUN 20, all elected officials will be up for election. We are working on event prep and giveaways now for our 9 Year Anniversary that will start 1 JUL 20.
