Build Review Part 2, Aistok
INTRO
My first submission, finally got it :) I will admit i somehow forgot how good is the oddy, since whenever i talk flagship meta i always hear that dreaded t6 scimitar, like sthap it. Well enough about that.
First impressions
U.S.S. Wisconsin, Endeavor Class... okay not seen that ship being flown in a while... sure, i will take a poke. Classical engi fed... with good old smell of weird specialization combos. Was quite impressed with the skill tree for the most part, apart from the weird few points here and there but hey (like epg wut). And a bit interested in reasonings for the choices on the hangar weaponary??? Started looking thru the equipment and my mouth started to slowly drop, whatttt, okayyy.... whyyy (insert a random brain overload). It kept growing when i looked at boff stations, i was like okay a drake but why do you...at least it is nicely doffed if nothing :P Traits are pretty standard for freebies, than the space rep traits... ummm yeah what, why, okay. Then I had a spark, an idea when i saw the thing... SUPER CHARGED WEAPONS. I was like okay now i got something to build around, mmmm yeah, took an additional scroll to see the stats, found a quite low crit chance, yeah gonna change that.
CUTTING THE BUILD UP
There was something above about avreagedeeps build, but yeah i will make it cheapdeeps with avreage deeps options since yeah i doubt you are willing to buy ships just cause it will give ya this 1 trait that is cool. Okay race and faction whatever m8, fed is nice for that cheap honored dead and engi is nice for the heals, i am gonna make it OffTank :) Okay, i can see intel staying as primary only if you somehow manage to outmanuver stuff in a stiff oddy and flank, pilot is even more baffling you running beams, not much turn rate needed there, your turn radius in a cruiser should be front to port and than when torps recharge swing to starboard or vice versa depending on surroundings. Secondary i guess strategist, and primary i guess miracle worker, you can poke around the temporal operative but for the build i planned won't be needed.
Lt wise i guess weird how you use torps but don't have training, probably would drop defensive manuvering and put up all in torps. Also shield cap is pretty meh imho.
LTC wise not sure why the improved drain xp, not like you use loads of subsytem offline stuff, i guess for the qp torp maybe??
COMM wise maybe consider the 1 point of hull plating, it really helps if you got sustain problems
CAPT wise not sure about the tunings but sure, i guess that is one way to get that power up, that epg is baffling me, why?, rest is fine
Admiral wise yeah tons of power, i guess makes sense if you tryna chase amp buff on a warp core, no readiness for engs? huh yeah okay
Not sure about the idea behind hangar weaponary, the threat control thing is much better. Everything else seems fine
Well first things first torps always on fore, set beams on aft unless they cool (TTF), as far as it goes, i would drop the quantum phase for a trilithium omni from the nexus mission. Later on i guess once you get terran taskforce up getting terran taskforce phaser and prolonged engagement phaser during the weekend event when it comes around.
Deflector, yeah i guess i would go one of the colony ones with colcrit and eps, or one of the set ones, maybe even filling sol set, impulse engines, cool i guess, could do with an upgrade to a rep or maybe sol defense engine to complete the set, really up in the air, i like the comp one, cause that speed. Warp core is cool for the moment, especially for high end tanking. Shield is fine, unless i guess wanna go rep, than you can go nukara 2pc or comp 2pc or comp 3pc for ultra tank. Devices, GET THOSE ENERGY AMPLIFIERS from beam rnd
Okay first things first get 2 of the flagship set peices on engi consoles, 1 on sci, fill out with relays, if you need vurn locators pm me when i am in game or on discord, i will inv you to a holding of a fleet that does :) QP converter is keep, ass module keep, get reinforced armaments for the engi console from Nexus (All praise the Trilithium 2pc, aka haste FTW cause faster fire is cooler), Temporal disentaglement is cool i guess...for noww (internal scream get ord accelerator from gamma rep asap).
LTC tac: TT1 APB1 FAW3
COMM eng: EptE1 EptS2 EptW3 RSP3
LT sci: ST1 HE1
LTC uni(tac): TT1 (KLW later) TS2 CF3
ENS uni (eng): ET1
pretty simple, gonna capitilize on that supercharged, 2 torp abilities to maximize the usage of a very good torp, torp spread followed by hy, gonna be cool
Hmm getting 3 DCE could be beneficial, torp cd officer might become redundant with this build, but hey happens
These traits are basic but work, i guess consider the things like the context, repair crews, intense focus... all manner of fun traits
well yeah, this is oof, okay magnified firepower, precision, advanced targeting systems, bring that dmg up, maybe spice up with chrono capacitor for cdr
yeah this is where the fun begins, predictive can go for all i care, get unconventional from completing strat spec, or if you interested in spending zen try to get EWC or redirecting arrays, maybe for sustain there are options, honored dead to drop that improved brace
couple of stuffs got cut by pc but this seems mostly fine... Yeah i hope this gives ya some ideas, also i will probably update this soonish explaining more in-depth if i get even more ideas, but for now yeah hope it helps. See you out there
Good stuff there.
As for some of the comments, yeah, I've been kinda wondering around looking for an identity for a build. Have run sci based ships, Destroyer cannon builds, so a lot of my stuff is mixed up and have been inserted as place fillers. So I've kinda lacked focus. I also am a long ways from knowing what equipment/traits are available to use and how they complement the build so the guidance there is helpful too.
I've kept coming back to cruisers. Last ship I used before leaving for BSGO was a T5 Galaxy Class (highest level at the time). When I came back to STO I switched to the Sovereign, then Command ships and experimented with carriers, and now the T6 Flag ship. This is where I want to focus.
I really need to get up to speed on the acronyms, as some of what you said lost me and I'll have to Google them, lol.
